Part 3: Air Itam @ Penang

In Part 3, we took a visit to the famous Kek Lok Si Temple with the famous 30.2m tall statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Now, it includes an equally-famous pavillion shading the Goddess of Mercy's statue from the damaging elements of nature. It's supported by 16 pillars and is 82.7m tall, as high as a 20-storey building.

The place we went to was one of the roadside stalls near the entrance to Kek Lok Si Temple. See that sign on top? Go down that road until you come to the end of the wet market. Then look to your immediate right. The hawker stalls should be in that general area.

This was obviously a favourite. Out of the 10 people, 6 of us ordered this.

Part 2: New World park @ Penang

In part 2, we sample two of Penang's most famous dishes. This time, we were brought to New World Park near the city centre.

Those who have eaten at the famous Swatow Lane ought to know that most of its hawker stalls have been relocated to their current premises in New World Park. Now patrons can eat the same yummy grub without sweating like pigs. However, do expect to fight for a table and seats cos its almost ALWAYS full.

Part 1: Northam Beach Cafe@ Penang

What better way to kick-start this blog than with food from the Pearl of the Orient itself, the (extremely) sunny isle of Penang. First, I'll post up the food we ate at Northam Beach Cafe, somewhere opposite Northam Hotel (the fancy gold-color all-suite hotel).

For those familiar with the likes of Asia Cafe and Ming Tien, the concept is almost the same.
