Went to Chow Yang in Petaling Jaya the other night for dinner. Parents were eager to try this 'famous' pan mee shop there, so decided to tag along since I had no other dinner plans.
There's not much to choose from their simple 1-page menu (which probably explains why there were so little people eating there, but maybe it was a slow night...).
My entire family ordered either the dry or soup version of the house pan mee.
In my opinion, this pan mee doesn't really have any special flavour or smell.
Tasted pretty much like any OTHER pan mee in any hawker stall and smelled just as ordinary.
However, my parents strongly believe that to really bring out the flavours, you should eat the pan mee with the special house blend of chilli powder (which probably explains the name).
Tempting as it may be to find out the truth of my parent's chilli claims, I'll leave it to the braver of you readers to investigate this matter at your own (stomach's) risk.
This is Justin, signing out.
