Aston's @ Dhoby Ghaut, Singapore

Phew...Singapore was a blast. Unfortunately, my financial condition didn't really allow me to sample the many delights available. However, I did manage to check out one place which seemed to have a constant line of hungry people at its entrance.

Told you it had a line...and believe me, its constantly there...

Now on to the food.
When you stop thinking about the conversion rates, these meals are actually damn worth the wait in line.

A tip to travellers: Drinking plain water with ais (a.k.a. ais kosong) or milk tea (a.k.a. teh ais) enables you to enjoy more food, as they are the cheapest drinks almost everywhere.

Side order of mashed potatoes & onion rings

I was really surprised at how nice the food tasted. Considering its external facade, I expected bland flavours or food that was just so-so. The flavours that hit my tongue on that first bite sent me into a minor reaction ala Yakitate Japan. Do check it out if you are ever in Singapore.

Take the MRT to Dhoby Ghaut station. Exit the station and head towards the Cathay nearby. Ask any local, they ought to be able to direct you. Once you arrive, take the escalator to 4th floor. You should be able to see Aston's on your right at the top of the escalator. Now all you have to do is wait in line to be shown to your table. Bon Apetit!

This is Justin, signing out.
